Desparately needed: quick translation from French to English

Can anyone out there help me relatively quickly? I need to translate these two short passages from French to English. They are directions to percussionists in a musical score.


courtes interventions non mesurées, très fournies, sur les métaux et les cercles (fines bates métaliques), jouées dans un tempo différent de celui de la batterie.

I'm in french 101, and I think the bable fish is almost right. A few places I'm not sure, but it's pretty good.

Thanks for the effort. I honestly appreciate it. Still, I tried Babelfish and the like, and it doesn't really work here. For example, after about an hour of trying many different sites, I found one that properly translated a word or two. For example 'clear case,' actually means 'snare drum...'

(great.... I not only have to translate, I have to code-break...)

I was just hoping there was a Quebecker out there or maybe a French major who could save me a few hours.

Try this site. The "baguettes" are the sticks for the "caisse-claire" (a snare drum). The "batterie" is the percussion section.

My guess is that the "metaux" -- metals -- are cymbals, the "t. blocks" temple blocks, and the "cercles" are triangles (despite the geometric disparity).

"batterie" usually refers to the entire drum set. I have no good knowledge of musical terms, but the translations seem good to me.
