Kids and EULAs

My 10-yr-old daughter knows I'm very particular about what gets installed on the family computer (a Dell). She has her own, so if she really wants to install something, I always tell her to put it on her computer.

Anyway, the other day, I noticed she had installed this game/screen saver called Katz on the Dell. In my stern, formal fatherly manner, I asked her, "Were you authorized to install this on the Dell?"

She quickly answered, "It's OK, Dad, I read the entire end user license agreement!"

I burst out laughing so hard she knew she was off the hook.

Kids do the darndist things...

Oh yeah, is "Katz" that game with all these little cats you can choose from, and they hang-out on you're computer and try to play with you? I had one of those a long time ago, got quite annoying when it sent out secrect messages to kill The Milk Man...

Good one My 7 year old is always downloading freebie games off the net on his puter. But the kids don't play on my main boxes. I gave both girls and the oldest boy each their own and the 3 year old won't be long as he has already taken interest in mine.

What's really funny is that a contract is not legally binding until your 18. So not only has your daughter done something not necessary for her sake, she has now become the RIAA's biggest threat. *COUGH*Yeah right.
