What's worse? The airlines humiliate some obese people by making them fly "Fat Class"?...Or innocent skinny people get crushed on public transportation!!!? | |

I'm sorry, I wouldn't sit next to that person and would INSIST that they let me sit somewhere else...I wouldn't care, give me one of the seats in the steward's area. whatever.

My only thought is the flying is a choice... I think if you are over wieght and need 2 seats, then you should pay for it. Otherwise, drive or take a train. Granted, you can't drive over seas, but no one if forcing you to go over seas. I see it no different than smoking. I have no problem with someone smoking but I do have a problem with it being blown in my face. I have no problem with someone being large, but I do have a problem if they in fringe on my "space" that I am paying for. Sorry, this might be harsh but it's how I feel.
As most of you know, I just got back from my honeymoon in Florida. The worst part of the trip is the Airport. I was search and even had to in buckle my pants. For NO reason. I had to stand in line during a "routine" security check for 55 minutes. Yes 55 minutes. I almost missed my plane. I went to a Security person there and told them I was afraid I was going to miss my flight. They said sorry to hear that. Anyway, my point is this, even though I went thru all of that crap, it was still MY CHOICE to fly. Therefore I have to play by their rules. However nowhere in their rules does it say I will have to share my seat with another person just because they are over weight. Agian, I am truly sorry if I have offended anyone. I just think that people need to realize that flying is a CHOICE, not a right.

I would have negotiated with the woman a deal where I could sit in her lap. What the hey, I'd'a prolly slept all the way through the flight, and maybe she would have liked it too.
