This sort of violence, the kidnappings and school shootings and the sniper attacks, were, as far as I can recall, unheard of when I was growing up in the mid-sixties. This has gone too far now.

These people are no better than the 9/11 terrorists. No better. I place them in the exact same category. Killing innocent people like this is extremely sad.

That is why there have to be deterrents.

Extreme deterrents.

For extreme acts.

Else we will be cursed with more copycat events.

Public hanging with live coverage will be a powerful deterrent for the wackos out there who think they can do what they want.

Well Thanks CBS for the murder of at least one american.

Be prepared for more. I said localize the story and only report facts.

This is too easy a way of murder. You could go years with out being caught if you were smart and moved alot. After nationally broadcasting this for 3 weeks 24 hours a day we are making sure all the psychos know how easy it is to evade police as a sniper.

I hope I am wrong but I will bet you that copy cats is gonna come out of the woodwork. Like columbine you put the idea out there and help the refine it you insure copycats.

Thanks USA media for causing the murder of at least one american and hopefully no more.

That shooting was NOT a copycat epidemic

Ballistics evidence from Saturday's shooting near Richmond matches that of other shootings in the D.C. area.

and richmond isn't 'local' but well within range of what should of been on the news for keepin' an eye on things.

well, i've seen it on the news down here in west texas, so i wouldn't exactly call it local. i really hope these are the guys, this cr@p has to stop. i agree shahani, these guys are just as bad as teh 9/11 terrorists, although i don't think these guys are terrorists, they don't seem to have any political goals, rather i would be willing to bet it's some guy who has some real mental problems who is doing it for the "fun of it". i just hope this guy is him, i want it to end.

But the yahoo report says the bullet is different calibre. The one they took out from Saturday nite's victim.

If its the same guy, he's totally insane.

Originel, at least the terrorist have some agenda, however perverted. Doin' it "for fun" sucks.

hmmm good reason why yahoo isn't the best place to look for info anymore

from cnn.com

Quote:
Sources: Two men in custody had no direct link to sniper case
• Men are undocumented workers -- one Mexican and one Guatamalan
• Police: Ballistics evidence links Saturday shooting to sniper attacks
• Twelfth victim in critical but guarded condition
