Telephone Shoes???

I drive around and i see shoes everywhere, what is the significant of shoes on a telephone wire? They are all over the place, even seen a pair of rollerblades up on the Telephone wires.

My boyfriend says it has to do with some movie but didn't know what is the purpose of shoes on the telephone.

So does anyone here know what is the significant of them shoes tossed over the wires?

Read the post again Warty! Last sentence sums it up. I think of them as Telephone shoes now cuz i see them all over the place.

I dunno, I'm in the middle of nowhere (TN) right now, and there's a little twisty, switchbacked road nearby, and the only telephone wire around with lots of old shoes hanging over it is on that road.

They say that's where drug dealers/consumers meet each other, that that's the "bullseye," but I don't believe it.

dunno, someone else through AIM suggested it might be from movie Stand By Me but they weren't totally sure. I have no idea.

I seriously doubt its gangs marking thier terriotory cuz then they'd own the whole damm city then.
