Oh...to answer those who asked about my shotgun, I paid $275 for it brand new, including a $10 shipping fee and a rear end pistol grip. The 12ga. shotgun is a powerful addtion to the pc workshop and can also vaporize the occasional critter

I think I'm gonna take some more pics of it this weekend, along with my knife...some nice foliage to rest it on

Something for you Glock lovers to think about.

Why do NONE of the Special Forces units carry Glocks? (I'm not just talking American either!)

Harder

When your life depends on it, you carry something you know will work!

sharder, I disagree, I have never had my glock malfunction since I have owned it(10 + years). I have also not cleaned the weapon for over a YEAR and it still functioned without exception.
I have owned S&W autos that were complete crap, and my brother owned a Para-Ordinance lightweight .45 that had to be REPLACED because it wouldn't shoot over 3 rounds without jamming. The replacement was just as bad.
I also own a Savage 110FP tactical rifle (.308)that a lot of people slam on, but the last time at the range, I had a guy turn his nose up at my "savage, huh? ha.."
5 shots at 100 yards from my lowly "savage" you could cover with a half dollar, and Mr. "I have a remington BDL 700 with a Leapold scope, the BEST there is" you couldn't cover his pattern with a sheet of paper from a legal pad! I was sure to ask,"are you new to the gun?" no
still sighting it in after smithing work? no
new scope? no
new ammo?no
testing reloads? no
well I guess that just leaves you then, huh? no answer....

Weapons are just like anything else that is mechanical and assembled by humans, there will be times when EVERYBODY makes a POS from time to time.
I would gladly go into battle with my glock, it has never failed me.

Glocks will jam if you do not hold them correctly. A loose grip is known to change the way the gun ejects ammo or something. I don't recall ever having a problem with mine.

Any Automatic handgun that is not held correctly can have mis-feeds.

I too would NEVER hesitate to go condition red with my Glock. My Glock has been one of the most reliable firearms ever produced! and I would love to read documented proof showing otherwise. (other than a few peoples personal beliefs)....

As for why special forces don't carry Glocks...I've heard all kinds of answers....From the Glocks being to expensive (remember goverment contracts go to the LOWEST BIDDER not the best offering)!, Due to the fact that the trigger also houses the safety that with the type of gloves they wear it wasnt a choice for them. to a multitude of other reasons. Take your pick... but answer this....Why is the Glock one of the most common and widely recognized firearms for being a defensive pistol?.......I'll give you a few answers on that one.....Quality, Reliablity, Value. Pretty much puts your question earlier to rest

YUP!! All semi-automatics rely on a firm grip to properly complete the cycle. (That's where the statement came from about "limp wristed" shooters don't want a semi-auto.)

BTW guys, I asked a simple question, "Why do NONE of the Special Forces units carry Glocks?" Mntsnow attempted to answer the question, everyone else became defensive from, and based their response on personal experience.

Okay, explain why major Law Enforcement Agencies (FBI, Federal Marshalls, etc.), are replacing their Glocks with non-Glock's today? To answer your question Mntsnow, it is a facination with the Glock and it's construction. They are popular with the people that do not understand the daily requirements of combat or law enforcement. And yes, I've seen Glock's jam, mis-feed, and stove pipe, even in the hands of police officers at the range!

I've talked with some of the soldier's who field tested Glocks, and there is a wide range of reasons they didn't prefer the Glock, reliability was the major reason. I've also talked to a number of Law Enforcement Officers that were still carrying Glocks, an with the exception of a couple, they were all waiting for their agency to switch to something else.

I personally don't have anything against Glocks and have never had a problem with the ones I've fired. But when I talked to the people whos life depends on their sidearm and they all say the same, I listen!

Harder

P.S. I'm not trying to pick a fight! I'm trying to bring to light somethings I've noticed and has raised my eyebrows. (BTW, I prefer FEG's, but that's me! )
