Idigguns brought up a good point in what type of ammo to use for self defense. In my case, in my wife's .380, I alternate between CorBon and Glaser Blue Tips. In my 9mm(MAK), I alternate between
MagSafe and custom factory loaded CorBon
(I need to call and order some more). In my full 9mm, I alternate between standard Gold Dot and +P. (BTW, the MagSafe rounds I use are the older #6 shot ones.) By doing this, if I need self defense, and the 1st round doesn't penetrate, the second will.
When it comes to hunting, with the exception of 2X, I've always used 1 shot neck kills with the rifle. (The 2 exceptions were heart shots.) Because I don't like to see the animal suffer either.

I had dropped a deer with a clean lung shot. As I approached the (dying) animal, I dropped to my knees and said a prayer (you know, like "Thank you Lord, for this precious bounty", etc.) and these guys just laughed and laughed at me. |
There's nothing wrong with thanking the Lord for the bounty he has provided. (I do it also.) As for the guys laughing, forget about the morons!!!
