I currently have a Ruger P90 .45 all stainless steel with a Hogue wrap around grip. Its still my first pistol. I also have 4.10 that I use for small game. Thats it for now.

Let's see, I have my Sig P220 (.45 cal.) next to my bed with a Mag Light. It's loaded with 185gr CorBon ammo. I usually carry a Heritage Arms Stealth 4000 (.40 cal.) loaded with 135gr CorBons. That combo rates a 96% one-shot stop, the highest of all handguns. But it depends on what I'm wearing. I live in S. Florida. Most of the time you wear light clothing and it makes it hard to conceal a handgun. So, sometimes I carry a Taurus titanium .38 Special. I have 110gr CorBon's in that. And when I want to carry something really small, I carry a Berretta Tomcat (.32 cal.) with 60gr CorBon's (I think). I have some other handguns that are more for fun, and a few long guns also.

You should try a 454 Casull! Now these things add a new meaning to the word kick..............

Idigguns brought up a good point in what type of ammo to use for self defense. In my case, in my wife's .380, I alternate between CorBon and Glaser Blue Tips. In my 9mm(MAK), I alternate between MagSafe and custom factory loaded CorBon (I need to call and order some more). In my full 9mm, I alternate between standard Gold Dot and +P. (BTW, the MagSafe rounds I use are the older #6 shot ones.) By doing this, if I need self defense, and the 1st round doesn't penetrate, the second will.

When it comes to hunting, with the exception of 2X, I've always used 1 shot neck kills with the rifle. (The 2 exceptions were heart shots.) Because I don't like to see the animal suffer either.

I had dropped a deer with a clean lung shot. As I approached the (dying) animal, I dropped to my knees and said a prayer (you know, like "Thank you Lord, for this precious bounty", etc.) and these guys just laughed and laughed at me.
There's nothing wrong with thanking the Lord for the bounty he has provided. (I do it also.) As for the guys laughing, forget about the morons!!!

Knothead,

I load my own 44 ammo. I can make it kick like a .357 At around 400 fps to a whopping 240 grain at near 1200 Fps. The hollow point and or glazers helps stop it within the confines of the human body.

My .223 pistol the tompson arms contender I think will go through and keep going with the full metal jacket.

I love the accuracy of that one. I mean pistol shooting @ 100 yards with a scope and a rest. I can hit 8.5 X 11 paper at 40 yards off hand with iron sights.

I have a problem with hunting. I have been bambieized by walt disney as well.

Dam PC movies.

Why don't they have the hunting channel for kids. And the game cleaning channel. Instead they try to give game animals human characteristics.

Guess I got "hardened" because I grew up on a ranch with mountain ground. I've "hardened" my kids too as they have both gone hunting with me since they were small. (let me tell ya that makes for a rough hunt too!...Dad my toes are cold, Dad how much longer?, Dad I want to ride the horses with Grandpa, Dad why do you keep telling to be quiet when nothings out there for you to shoot?, Dad I want to go back to the cabin, Dad it's too early I want to sleep more and I cant sleep in the blazer as the roads to bumpy. LOL

But some how they survived and so did I and they love bbq'd deer and elk
