Cricket
I haven't followed this game for ages (the sport not the insect )....
So to all the Aussies, Brits, and other country's TechIMOers where cricket is popular...
How are you guys doing?
I hope Waugh is doing good with his boys, and Warne is spinning as deadly as ever....
Last time I saw the game, England was in a major slump... how are you guys doing now?
Any more match fixing scandals recently?
So whose the fav. for the world cup?
Would love an update from any TechIMO cricket fans....

Waugh twins are in a slump, just like the Poms are still.
Warney is spinning up a storm, and has even lost some weight!
Australia is still the king of the pitch, but faces a bit of competition from a few places. England is not one of them currently, though. mick ducks after goading the Poms

Cheers
Mick (who doesn't mind the odd test or one-dayer. )
edit: hmm, that sites news is a bit stale - must be a US cricket site . Try this one: http://www.cricket.org/ | |

HAHAHA... 54 and 53... was Shahid Afridi playing in the match, if not then I guess thats what explains it ..... I also bet that Warna musta taken all the wickets...
So the Aussies are still kings of the pitch, huh?
Ya know, I've actually met up with the aussie team a few years ago, I got my picture taken with Warne, Waugh, Tom Moody (is he still playing??)...
Warne is a real clutz in person... I remember when I was talkin with him, he lit his cigarette witha match stick and forgot to put the match stick out, and stuffed the lit match stick in his pocket, he burnt his finger and made a hole in his pant pockets ...
And I think cricket ownz all the other sports.... nothing beats a good ol' one-dayer ....

So each team bats approximately 3-4 hours and fields for the same time. The play is far more interesting and fast paced as compared to the traditional 5 day matches which mostly ended indecisively.
The one-day events are huge crowd drawers and very popular all over the world except the US.

For all you baseball fans, here's a brief description of the game: You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!
Easy game. | |

IMO, the most fun of a game to watch and play too ,
it lost a lil credibility after the match fixing scandals, but from what I gather, that did not happen again.

Match fixing happens in all sports from the Olympics downwards.
Hey, Dawg, did you know if you get StarTV on cable, you can watch live matches?
