jesus wasn't god was he? he's the son of god, i never understood that whole trinity thing
if jesus was so powerful why didn't he just destroy the demons and not harm the pigs?

Regarding your doubt about the trinity, it is indeed One God but three persons, if you care, here is a basic understanding of the to explanation of the trinity :
http://home.nyc.rr.com/mysticalrose/trinity.html
To quote from the site :
Quote:
Here's an example to help you understand: Let's say there are three men - John, James and Joe. Each one thinks, loves and decides for himself, yet they are joined in such a way that they all share the same soul. John can think with James' intellect, because it is also his own; James can love with Joe's will, because it is his will as well.
Now, if we ask John; "Are you a person?" he'd say "Yes, I am a person." James and Joe would say the same thing, for each is a distinct person from the other. Yet we can't say there are three distinct human beings, since they share one human nature among them. Likewise with God. There are not three Gods, there is only one God; one Divine Nature possessed equally and totally by three distinct Persons.

Now once you become deeply involved in the Christian faith, then you would see that the Trinity is invoked in different cases. For example, We may call on Jesus to forgive us from our sins. Whereas God the Father for intentions and The Spirit to strengthen our spiritual lives.
Another analogy, would be to consider the Trinity as different parts of the same body. For example, the ears allow us to hear, legs allow us to walk, and the eyes allow us to see.
In essence, one could say that tasks are divided between them, but they all together function as God.
Again, I or nobody could give a definite answer about the pig issue, all I could do is draw conclusions from the events. My conclusion is given in the previous thread. Look at it this way, Jesus didn't drive it into another human being, rather he drove it into animals. Jesus came primarily, to save human beings, and if had to kill animals in the way, then so be it.
Don't tell me you don't eat meat

.... the meat that you eat comes from animals that are slaughtered, much worse than falling into a river (IMO)...
And, BTW Jesus was no vegetarian

... he ate fish, God values human life more than animal life, in fact, he gave us animals to be used as food

There wasn't anything extremely wrong in sending those demons into the pigs, if u think about it.....
Hey, maybe they could have been used as food by someone downstream
