Moving...

Well, we are upgrading from renting an apartment to renting a three-bedroom farmhouse.
Today, we bought a refrigerator and someone gave us a washing machine (we have no clue if it works).
Any tips on home upkeep or things we should watch out for??

Firstly, Congrats to you and your husband for the upgrade. Living in a farmhouse can be an adventure even with the additional work involved.

Keep your doors/windows closed at nite - lots of small errr....critters come in and go out all the time.

'Bout the washing machine, I thinl it's free. You don't have to put in 4 quarters like we do in our apartment.

Epidemic lives in a farmhouse (see his gallery) and can prolly gove good tips after his errrr....strep throat clears.

A house is much different than an apartment, better IMO.With the winter coming, make sure to keep the ouside spickets wrapped during the freezing weather, and a walk around the house everyday is a good idea, I do it here in town, just to make sure everything is in tact.

You'll love not having people on all sides of ya though

We keep our Lab, Lucky, in the house every night. He patrols the place and let's us know, quite loudly and insistantly, if even a stray cat gets close to the house. Woke us up one night a couple of times, only to notice the same car riding aound the neighborhood. They drove by this house
