Wood Burning Furnace?

OK I just bought one.It burns for twelve hours between loadings, forced air heat via ducts in the house.
I'm putting it in the garage, so I can heat the garage and house, all at the same time Priorities ya know.
The house and garage are attached.Garage is 24x48, the house is three bedroom. The location of the chimney is about central to the house, and garage.]
There are no ducts in the house now, so I'm going to have a couple weeks work ahead of me here.

Anyone have one of these woodburners?
If so, are there any tips I should know before I start?
Maybe a good place to look at some info on them.

Thanx
BC

Hi BC!

Please tell us that you checked with your insurance company before you bought and that they will cover the problems you might have come up.

Primary - verify you have enough fresh air coming in to actually feed the burn process, and a correctly sized flue to remove stack gasses.

I'd do it too TKOP.. I LIKE seasons
no seasons would be so horribly boring
EVERY day you look outside it looks the exact same

make sure the area around the woodburning stove is a good foundation with nothing that will catch on fire if it gets too warm

I enjoy the snow, but the cold I don't care much for, at least not 4 months worth.

Anyone know about duct work? Have to install those as well
I am looking forward to central heat though, no more cold bathroom

Thanx Guys

Yep I admit im jaded, I like snow and cold weather but not on a daily basis for months---snow is about 90 mins away during the winter where I am---we can snowboard in the morning and surf in the afternoon---plus average temp in the winter is 72°---cant imagine a cold bathroom?---ive been around the world many times but never back east in my own country---I gotta do it real soon...

I've burned wood for years, I love the heat from it, It's different than gas somehow.

Dad and I are clearing a 40acre tract of his land, so I'll have wood for a good long time,as he allows no one to cut there but us.

I just got the heater home, and it's as big as a boxcar almostSure will beat fur covered toilet seat though

average winter temp of 72, must suck to be you
No frozen doorlocks
icy windows
snowy drives
ICE.
I feel for ya TKOP

Got the Fire Chief It's an older one, but in good shape. $350

<edit=added linky>
