Almost killed a man

Last night my neighbors were fighting again and this time the lady was sceaming for help and you could tell he was beating her bad,so I told the wife to call the police and I went on over. He was hitting her with a leg off their kitchen table and she was sceaming for help I went in and he hit me across the face with the leg and hit my left eye and it was on. I unloaded on the guy more than I should have and I feel bad now. The cop showed up right after I beat the cr@p out off this guy. I have a huge black eye and a huge knot on my eye. The cop came by today and told me that I would have to apear in court to testify in her behalf, so I'm not in trouble myself as she told the cop what happened completly. She had a broken collar bone and cracked jaw. He had several craked or broken ribs and the cop said I broke his nose and left him black and blue. I would have waited for the cops but I thought he was going to kill her so I went in. I really lost my cool when he hit me. I have been that crazy since my school days(I used to be a scrapper). I beat the guy til he could move no more. The cop said since he hit me first I acted in defence and as long as the girl didn't press charges againts me for entering her house I would be in any trouble. She told the cop to thank me and she would not press charges as she called out for help and I came. But still makes me feel bad. What makes a man beat on a 100# lady that can't defend herself.

arghhh
Glad you were there mds.. really sad how pathetic a guy is that he has to beat on a woman to make himself feel better *sigh*
Glad you didn't kill him, cause you wouldn't be here today
With a table leg no less..

Peronsnally, I would have shot him, but, anyway, you acted appropriately to the situation.

MDS, this happend across the street with my dad too, it was the same thing almost. The lady was getting beaten and my dad went in and tryed to stop him with words, then he used action... none of them pressed charges because the man was intoxacted. Still to this day(That was maybe a year or so ago) he wishes he'd never entered... but then I remind him what if he didn't? What if she died? and it's always a sticky situation... but overall you shouldn't feel bad, you saved a woman's life. From you're story it seems like you did save her life. So you should feel proud. But I understand how there is guilt like: Why couldn't have I just restarined him and waited for the police, ect... But things happen for reasons...

Guy's lucky you were there instead of me... I have a nice aluminium baseball bat...

I probably would have cleaved his head in.

MDS think of it this way, either you would of been on the ground not moving, or him

which is better?

You saved her life and thats all that matter. the guy is trash for beating on her and he gets whatever he deserves

I think you acted on instinct and that would have been most anyone's decision. Don't worry yourself over it too much. He was hitting her with a "TABLE LEG". I mean it's bad enough he was laying his hands on her in the first place, let alone beating on her. I don't see anything wrong with what you did. Esp. after he hit you first. Kudos from me!!!!
