NEW SHOW Birds of Prey!!!!!

This is the show that has the comic book characters Huntress, Oracle and Harley Quin. It is set in Gotham City and is a spin off of Batman, since Huntress is his daughter and Oracle was Batgirl before she was paralyzed by the Joker after Natman defeated him.

The show is very cool. The first episode aired last night and my wife recorded it. It is not a preachy show about girl-power like it could have been cast as, but a very cool comic-like show that has a lot of potential. I thought this episode was a little rushed in its story telling, but they did have a lot to tell in a short amt of time (70 minutes was the lenght of this one).

Here's their site: http://www.gothamclocktower.com/

If you missed the show, give me a PM and I might be able to help you out...

The first show was tonight on the WB. It should be a regular show though if it keeps up.

I bet it will, cuz I know that many people will like the show. It will attract female audience too...(The whole girl power?) who knows, may be a top TV show... or it can bomb... time will tell.

I saw this too, and IMO, it was EXTREMELY cheesy...
The reason why this show was launched because of the huge success of Smallville (on theWB tuesday 9 PM EST).
Smallville portrays superman in his teenage years and is doing real good, because it opened up a rather unknown part of America's favorite superhero.
Birds of Prey takes on a new spin with another favorite super hero, batman. But the difference here is that Batman is no where to be seen, although he pops up in the thoughts now and then. Couple that with the below-par acting, extremely horribly designed gadgets and a rather weak story line, this show ain't gonna last very long...
The underlying plot is interesting, but the pilot episode was horrible and displayed even more horrible acting, reminds me of the horrible Batman TV series from way back ...
If you guys have seen Smallville's pilot episode, then you would have been hooked right then, it had great special effects and I think it coulda even debuted on the big screen, coz it was that good.
All this is IMO, of course... I think this show is supposed to be geared towards the teenage female audience.... in that case, I ain't even gonna watch it again....

I don't think it's fair to compair Smallville to Birds of Prey. Smallville is a HUGE success with many EXCELLENT actors and as stated above opened up a whole new view on the Superman character. Birds of Prey is doing just the opposite. Looking in the past and presenting the future. I think it has plenty of potential as long as it stays on the RIGHT track. The acting isn't as good as I would have thought, but hopefully they will work into there characters soon.

But you gotta admit, it felt like those cheezy girl power shows, the mood of batman is not captured at all, and the gadgets were absolutely pathetic. The acting was way off... the only good thing I could say about this show was the fight scene which lasted for a couple of minutes....
IMO, this show is ruining the legacy of batman in a way. Maybe, they can improve... I mean smallville ran into a couple of horrible episodes (the one with the fat sucking girl was the worse), but they started it off with a mind blowingly awesome episode and the acting was Rock solid through out with the exception for Kristin Kreuk (lana Lang), she wasn't as good in the beginning but she's def. improved and on par with the rest of the crew.
For some people, the first impression, if bad, is the last impression. I'm sure it turned off a buncha Batman fans (me for one)......
Maybe I'm over reacting, but I had high hopes for this show and it completely turned me off.....
