have you ever wondered about fictional software like in movies? none of the software in most movies like swordfish and the matrix for example, is seen in real life for the most part. if there were really software that had GUI's like the software in movies does, then more people would have/use it. my question is, the movie makers had to use some kind of real software to simulate the fictional software on the movie. how do they do this and why not go the extra step and make GUI's that look as cool as the ones in movies?
they could do it in something like flash, or even shockwave. Some of those "GUI's" are so ultra cheese it cracks me up lol

I know what you mean, CE and I were watching this one movie, and one of the characters was reading this book. We took a good look at the 'text', and it actually said, "Blah, blah, blah....Over and over!
I'm in post prodoction (mostly commercial and television with some HD movies thrown in) and my guess would be that a lot of that is done in post. They composite it in. If there's camera motion in the shot, it's more difficult to do as you have to use motion tracking as well, but it's not that hard. So, like so much of hollywood (and my ex-girlfriend), it's just doing a good job of faking it. (j/k!)
