Systems How to keep a dog from fryng itself?

Caught our bigger dog chewing on a shredder cord today. Chewed all the way through. Thank god it wasn't plugged in. I guess he wants her to live.

How can we stop this behavior? She's chewed on an audio cab;e before (a long time ago). All we've done is give her a leathery flip chip, any connections?

It's sad to see such a great dog do such stupid things

well after he gets a quick shock from it, chances are he won't bite on it anymore!

hopefully he'll be smart enough if it does shock him to get away from it.

Don't think a quick shock would be lethal as long as he doesn't go into shock and clamp down it harder from teh voltage

With this dog, that probably will happen.

ie very, VERY strong jaw

it's also a small dog (small medium size)

go to your local pet supply and get a tube of apple bitters and put some on anything that doggy chews on. in fact ,put somein his mouth first, then on whatever you dont want chewed up. we had the same problem with our pooch, and this helped immensly. how old is this dog??

make sure you have a bunch of doggie toys laying around for your dog to keep her happy through her chewing stage. I personally like the sterlized beef bones, they are hard as rock and last a long time and my dogs love them!!! Try grabbing a few of those at your local pets smart to see if this will be a good distractor for your pup.

Have you tried the Sterlized Beef Bones yet? They are HARD AS ROCK!!!!! be pretty darn hard for a dog to bust one of these in half.

Here is what they look like.

I'd try these, if she loves to chew chances are she will love these bones and they last a long time too.

i wouldnt do it but you could sneak up on the dog with a stun gun when it chews on the cord and give it just a little zap, itll get the messege. now that i think of it, that coulld be somewhat inhumane.
