Beat this 30-yr conventional fixed rate!

http://www.golden1.com/rates_researc...gage_rates.asp

With Golden1's 30 year fixed rates, I am looking at an IR of 5.750% w/ 1.875 points, yielding an APR of 6.026%.

I wonder how this compares to anyone elses?

A "point" equals one percent (1%) in a mortgage/auto loan. Sometimes, points are added to the loan rate if the credit history of the borrower is not good. Or, conversely, points can be deducted under some circumstances depending on the loan risk for the lender. Points can be in decimals, ie 1.678 points.

we jsut remortgaged. i think its around 5.5 also for a 15 year. cheap money!!

we will pay an extra $100 a month on principal by paying the same payment as we were before the remortgage.

I just refinanced also a couple of weeks ago. I got a 5.125% rate on a 30 year 10/1 ARM loan with 1.25 points. For those that don't know this is a 30 year loan where the 1st 10 years are fixed (at 5.125% for me) then the last 20 years are adjustable. This is a great loan for me though because I am overpaying my monthly payments so much that i will pay off my loan in less than 9 years and will thus be able to avoid the adjustable rate part of my loan.
