Ya there are a lot of folks that have quit smoking, myself included. However, I would probably imagine there are just as many if not more that have tried and were not able to.
It wasn't as hard for me cause I can't stand smoking because of the smell, and the taste and a number of other reasons.. my point is I hated smoking so it was more reasons for me not to. Even I relapsed and started up again.. but a few months later I was able to quit again
The best thing to do is try to find something that helps you relax w/o the nicotine... a fine wine, a nice drive, going fishing.. something (probably not fishing .. too much time to think about it lol).
Get out of the house and do something, do some yard work.. don't just sit there and think about it.

I quit cold turkey in June, after 17 years.

Last night was the worst yet for me. We went to a dance club that was packed with smokers, and I still have the craving this morning.

I'll finish off the ones you only manage to maim.

Hang in there, prexaspes The only thing I can say is that alot of us are pulling for you. You're doing the right thing... just try to be strong, and stay away from anything that could be used as a weapon

The best thing is to never start. Glad to see you're going back to the light, don't turn back !!!

Advice : get a FPS, play online and kill virtual people for hours.

Anytime you feel the need to fall off the wagon, post here to remind yourself you're quitting

No, I haven't failed yet.

I'm quitting cold, dead, murdered turkey. A turkey sandwich sounds nice about now...

I've smoked exactly half of my life now. 13-26

It will kill me if I don't quit right now, today, tomorrow...

I've been off the cancer stix for a couple of days now. I'm assuming it'll get easier in a couple more days.

Keep thinking how much better you will feel, how you will save money, how people wont think yer nuts anymore for gradually committing suicide, how your car wont stink, how you wont have to go outside in the dead of winter to smoke, how granny and your sisters baby wont wince anymore when you kiss them etc etc---
Thats alot to look forward to and its 100% entirely possible for you to acomplish and you WILL succeed!
