Moving to Oregon...

If a guy were to say... Move to Oregon... Where would be a good place to start? I don't want something too big (maybe 20 - 60K people), but I don't want to be too far from something big either. Location must have rural happy fun times where I can crash my truck into stuff...

Any ideas, Oregonders?

LOL Vass, ya knew I'd be here. LOL,

Well there are lots of places in oregon But if you are looking at only 20k to 60k people, well that is just about anywhere but portland and salem and that is hitting the high end for Bend. Bend is at 64K right Now i belive.

Really depends on what kind of work you plan to do and if the areas will suite your needs for employment and such. Whats the reason for moving? Job transfer? or just moving for the hell of it?

oh ya plenty of places to go fourwheeling or even rock crawling. Piwnor (sp? ) run is pretty popular.

Portland has alot of nice rurual areas as well. All depends on what your needs are for living.

Edit:

Ya. Last time I went from here to for east Penna. If I'm gonna move, I'm gonna move. Oregon has a lot to offer I here, for rugged, outdoorsy types like myself (ha ha).

I have a friend that lives in Monroe and goes to school in Corvallis. I was thinking maybe somewhere in that area. College towns are fun.

I need a job in the computer industry though. Other than music (which never pays the bills) it's the only thing I'm decent at. Well, if I could get a job procrastinating, man I'd be a millionair!

Oregon is north enough to still get snow too.

Right. Just enough to be there. I hate Michigan winters.

Maybe I'll pull a Surreal and move to Utah...

I'd be afraid of the Mormons. One of my high school friends is Mormon. Her fam moved to Salt Lake City after she graduated high school. Too decadent up here in the woods or something...

But I know there are some nice place to wheel in Utah. Maybe no jobs though.
