an advertisement for maintainance workers needed at the US embassy in Moscow appeared in our local sunday paper today.
has anyone had or know anyone who has worked for this company??(PAE)

phone calls would get expensive, you'd want to get some of those cheapo calling cards for sure.
does it say how long the contract is? Or if they provide you time to come home occasionally paid by them?

the contract is for two years. they have deals on phone calls thru the embassy.
How much vacation time do I accrue?

A: 5 weeks per year, plus approximately 19 paid holidays per year (Local and American holidays are both observed). PAE covers the cost of airline travel to New York or Rome at the one-year mark. Individuals wishing to vacation elsewhere cover any additional cost for airline travel.

Many of these types of jobs pay REALLY well. I don't see any hard numbers on their site, though. If it payed well, and you don't mind being seperated from your family for long periods of time, I say go for it.

now he checks out singles sites of russian chicks from back home LOL

i just can't picture russia with internet.... it's so old school. in the days of communism, all people made similar amounts of money which was less than or comparable to minimum wage here... people have to get in waiting lists to order cars, things like TV didn't have much for selection, nobody really has any money.....

it's just brutal, it's what USA or Canada would be like if another great depression came upon us.
