Ramen soup. The food of choice for college students on a budget and pressed for time. Just don't try to exist in the packaged stuff alone, though!!

Add some green onions, maybe some leftovers (chopped up)... also, there's this Japanese fish cake (for some reason, it's bright pink) in the import section of the deli case. Slice this up and add it. Not bad! Also, experiment by adding mushrooms. Like spicy? Get a jar of Ichimi Togarashi, a collection of Japanese ground chili. Careful, though!

Ramen soup is ridiculously cheap (like, 13 cents per 1-serving package) and so are the vegetables that you add to it.

Cooking time about 3 minutes. You're in there, you're outta there, and nobody gets hurt.

Stir fry. Get a wok and mix in an assortment of veggies with chicken, beef or fish. Make sure the meat is cut thin because then it will cook fast on a hot wok. There are many online recipes for doing this and it is real easy and fast.

Nuke frozen burritos. Pour over a can of Hormel Chili. Nuke some more. Put some cheese on top. Nuke some more. Serve with a few cold beers.

Noddles and minced beef with a pasta sauce. Takes about 10 mins from whoa to go. Boil noddles in a pot, fry mince in a pan, then add pasta sauce and simmer. When noodles cooked, add them and mix it all up. Then eat! Yum!!

Used to live on the stuff when I lived in a nurses home (that's nurses home, not nursing home, ppl ). Quick, easy and cheap. I still love it, in fact!

Cheers
Mick

I found some nice ideas for you to look at.

http://www.dianaskitchen.com/page/skillet.htm

http://www.nissinfoods.com/recip.htm

What kinds of food do you like to eat? I'll try and add some more specific recipes ifn you like...

...remember, with cream of mushroom or tomato soup, you can make 100's of dishes. Crock pots work out real well for big pieces of meat. Folding aluminum foil into pockets and baking is pretty easy.

also, probably most important to flavor is to pick up a few spices. I'd suggest covering the bases with...
.....granulated garlic....S&P..... an Italian blend, or just basil.... parsley is cheep and good..... chili powder or cayenne or paprika... and cinnamon.... these you could do alot with...and some basic sauces like tabasco or a milder version, soy sauce, lemon juice.

don't forget about soups, they are nutricious, economical and fun to cook.

OK, here's two easy recipes for you.
..... Buy a can of cheap biscuits.
take some ham and cheese cut up small. take a pinch and put on biscuit, then fold over to encase it. Bake as directed.
..... Buy a can of cheap biscuits
take a pair of scissors and cut each piece into small pieces. Sprinkle all with a good mix of sugar&cinnamon mixed together. Clump together on baking pan, I do it like a big donut for even cooking. Bake as directed- we call this monkey bread, kids will be climbing the walls!!!
If you are looking for something specific, I'll try to help, I'm a recipe nut....

...also a tip for ya ifn u like eggs....

Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs

Put the eggs in a pan and cover with water.
Begin boiling the eggs and water over high heat.

When the water boils vigorously, remove the pan from the heat and cover with a lid.

After they sit for 10 minutes, drain the water and crack the eggs.

Next cover the eggs with cold water for about 30 minutes.

When you crack the eggs when they are done, it allows for the sulfur to escape.

The sulfur causes the green color and the odor.

Always start at the large end first for easy peeling.
