Hey I was just looking through a message board on this and there were some pretty heated views on it. I just want to know how you guys feel about it. Not trying to start an argument I just want to know how it affects you.

This isnt about a game. It's about the Confederate Battle flag. There are some really varied views on it and I just want to know how everyone feels

Well I grew up in the north, so my view is we live in the US we put soldiers out there protecting the US. Not the confederacy...
Its the United States... not the United states except us down south.... we're the confederates
Which is kind of what the confederate flag symbolizes for them..

I only respect the flag of the country I am a citizen of, which is, and always will be, the United States.....that flag is NOT the Confederate flag, regardless of whatever it was in the past.

Not quite the responses I was looking for. I want to know what it symbolizes to you and how that symbol affects you. I for one fly the flag in honor of my ancestors that died fighting for their state's rights. To me it symbolizes my southern heritage. Thats what it means to me. I also fly the American flag as well. Both flags stir feelings of pride in me.

I see a confederate flag, I think of General Lee, as in the Dodge Charger in the "Dukes of Hazzard"

Well, I come from a state that has this as a very prevalent issue. It was on our state house until about a year ago and it still provides plenty of debate b/c it is now on a state monument on state grounds and flies very high in the sky. (I am from and am speaking about South Carolina, not Texas, where I now reside.)

I believe it is a historical item that brings about pride in many but it also represents (somewhat incorrectly) slavery to others.

I have always voted that the flag be taken down for one simple reason. IT IS THE WRONG FLAG! This is a flag flown on the battle field, not the true confederate flag . If any flag should be flown to commemorate the confederate legacy, FLY THE RIGHT FLAG . No one, even those who fight fervently for the flag, thinks that we are still at war. So why fly the battlefield flag?

Just an angle to the argument that I rarely hear and find very strange that it is absent...
