why do people hate disco so much?

i like disco. haven't you heard some of those classic songs?
everybody says disco sucks but i rather like it.....it's like old school techno and you don't have to be completely blitzed out on drugs to enjoy it.....bust out some KC And The Sunshine Band and there's a party goin down

"We like pop, we like soul, we like rock, but we never liked disco." - Art Alexakis

Preach on Brother Art!

Half the problem with disco is that no one wants to be associated with something you had to dress so badly to enjoy...

I listen to some pretty shakey music, but I just can't get into Disco.
Dunno.. it kinda reminds me of boy bands of the 70's or something..
Just IMO

go to kazaa or whatever you use and look up the song "car wash", "do a little dance", "i'm your boogie man" and "play that funky music"
those songs are awsome!

you don't have to dress to listen to music, i have a T-shirt on and no pants or underwear....i'm still having fun

Too much information!!

Actually, my roommate's band ( http://www.vadersmistress.com ) does "Play That Funky Music". But I still don't like disco...

Yes, that was a shameless plug...

Edit: Forgetting my board syntax!!

sorry but only KC can do that song....they r0x0rz

your friend's band probably doesn't have enough people will the skill to play disco songs....there's surprisingly a lot of instraments involved in those songs....
for Play That Funky Music this is what i can hear....
1 base guitar
1 other guitar
drums
wood block
1 baratone sax
1 tenor or suprano sax

You best not be cuttin' on my friends buddy. I didn't say they played KC's version of it anyhow. They are a ROCK band, not a DISCO band. None of my friends have that bad a taste in music.
