Outdoors Best friend gone

I had my cat put down today he was a good friend and god I miss him.

He was the only cat I new that would come to me if I called him.
He was my alarm clock always faithful, he slept all night on my pillow.

The vet said it be $600 to $1200 to save him but I just couldn't swing it I'm on disability.

Man I feel bad!

I'm tired and going to bed.

My condolences, troyt75. Been there, done that. Not only do you feel the loss, but you fight the guilt of having put him down.

Take it from someone who has been through it; don't feel guilty. Animals don't express pain like we do. They'll live for years in agony. I've seen folks with pets that were clearly miserable but the owner couldn't do the one thing they were able to do to end their pet's suffering, and that's to put the pet to sleep forever.

My advice...get another cat right away. Go to the nearest shelter and rescue one or two. You'll be glad you did.

I'm sorry Troy. M_Six has some good advice. I had an English Setter that had to be put down. When he started to get realy old I told my wife that we need to get a puppy now while we still have the English Setter, because it's going to be real hard on the kids when he passes. Well we got a Lab pup and it realy helped the kids and me too when the time came.

Man that's rough

I've been there myself. Once long ago when I was young and again just a few years ago. It still upsets me.

Perhaps this may help. Right now I've have a calico beside me that behaves much like your friend.

You did what had to be done for your friend no one can ask more than that. There will be another who will come to remind you of this one, not to replace it but to stand along side it in your heart.

Be patient it will come.

I had the same thing happen a couple years back---lost a fine animal id had for 18 years---he was more true than any human id known and had been thru alot with me always accepting and never complaining---it took awhile for me to come around but I was blessed with a new kitten and that was the best thing I could have had happen...

I know what you are feeling and have tears in my eyes...

I am sorry for your loss.

I may not love the little feline fuzzballs but, I know how the loss of a pet and friend can be.

I am sorry for the loss of your buddy.
