It's not in English but I think you should understand the problem. Where does the empty block come from? Both triangles are the same size, and all shapes within the triangles are the same size. I think I figured it out but to be honest this stumped me for a good while.

Simply put, both of the larger figures (made from the four smaller shapes) are not triangles. What would be the hypotenuse of the larger shapes (if they were triangles) are not straight lines. It bows in a little on one and out a little on the other. That difference is enough to add up to one square.

There is no empty block, and there is no explination. Think of it simple, There is a space that is dofferent from the other because the colours and differences of the blocks make it look totally different.

Its a typical Head Job by mathematicians to show us that there is nothing really different , but there is at the same time.

Its like you equate it in mathematical terms. here look here.
