KIdney eval
Will be going to Birmingham, AL tommorow for 3 days for an evaluation to hopefully get a new kidney in the near future.
Dialysis has really got me back in good health, but 12 hours a week gets old even though you know you'd be in the happy hunting ground without it. Wish me luck !!!

After dealing with my problems with my kidney, I can certainly sympathize with you. May you find what you are seeking for.

Wish you luck, pickel, and I'll add you to my prayers. Is it a cadaver or live donor kidney? Or is this just the tests for acceptance into the program? Is there a long wait? There's a 19yo girl here who has gone to advertising in the paper for a kidney donor. No money involved (that's illegal here) but she has about an eight month wait on the current list. So she looking for an altruistic donor. Dunno what her chances are, though.
Good luck.
Cheers
Mick

Good luck man, I hope you find a donor.
Mick - didn't think she was 19 atm. I think she has needed it since she was 19.

Just going for the evaluation. Have no idea that I will ever get one. At least this is the first step. Newer know. I might get lucky and find a match straight away. My has daughter has volunteered but with a small child, I figure she needs it more than I do. Dialysis isn't that bad. I have GOOD facility and the nurses are very professional and attentive. Just glad I have no other complications like some of the other patients. I have it good compared to some of the others.
