I will have to say that this is mostly about our litigious society.

I do not blame the doctors in this case. I do not blame the insurance companies. I blame a suit happy society. OOOOO they left a sponge in me "LOTTERY TIME" wahooooo.

If these cases only happened due to gross negligence then reasonable judgements are in order.

Simple run of the mill mistakes happen and you are coming into the hospital because you are broke. I am sure if given enough time a savy lawyer could find fault in every case of death in the USA. Hence you are guaranteed to have lawsuits as a doctor.

Man it is a vicious circle.

But I would not call it all about money exactly, only because it is more about survival. Only about money sounds like greed.

This is about being able to support your family and protect yourself from frivilous lawsuits.

You say it's all about money, realistically would you do a job that sued your ass off every year?

The world is becoming a litigous society, everyone wants to 'point the finger' when things go wrong.

Would you, in honesty, step 'out of line' with accepted practice, when it could cost you every thing you have?
