I voted no war. No one wants more people killed. This will be a "unwinnable" war and long and drawn out. Plus it's cost serious money.
And lives.

No War !
Who the hell wants a War of any kind ?
IMHO,
Afghanistan is not a War, those Guys did 9/11, We 'Took Away' their funding and support!
Saddam is saying 'Feck You', We are simply replying.
I remember an old, old cold war story,
American schoolboy is studying history, and asks his Daddy,
How many nuclear bombs would take out Europe?
Daddy says " I guess about 8 or 9"
Schoolboy says " How many to take out the Middle East"?
Again ,daddy replies 'about 8 or 9 I guess',
'And How many to take out Russia'?
' 25, Son'.
Be Warned.

I do not want war, however, I voted for war.
At least a police action of sorts. I am a firm believer that someone in the middle east will unleash the doomsday bug someday. Or at least some major mass destruction.
Sadam is very likely to be that fellar. He has demonstrated that he has not respect for human life, in that he gassed something on the order of 50,000 civillians. It is apparent that he values his own life at the moment. If the man ever ends up with a mortal disease I think he would not think twice about nuking his neighbors and or the west.
Currently I feel that when he gets a chance to anonymously deliver a bio agent to the US he will do so.
Finally Sadam is in violation of the terms of surrender and therefore is subject to resumption of hostilities

I'm not a pacificist, but if there was a case for this war, it's the same case that was there on September 10, 2001. I don't recall much war fever emanating from the Administration then, and there are no new facts.

Nope. Not yet, anyway.
Personally, I haven't heard a single compelling reason to wage war in the middle east, other than the fact that an election will be coming, and if GW can get us nicely embroiled in a war, we'll likely vote him right back in! 'Twas ever thus.
Sure, they're annoying, plus, they're easy to confuse with the criminals who caused the WTC disaster, plus, Hussein is being obstreperous about UN Security teams invading his "secure" spots...so?
I can take a LOT of insult when the alternative is sending our boys over there to get bogged down in an eternal land war of sappers, hit-and-run attacks, suicide bombers, the whole plethora of misery that composes the "now-you-see-me-now-you-don't" tactics of an enemy that just doesn't even care whether they live or die. Mark my words, it'll be a war of attrition, not battles... and it will never stop.
I say, hold yer fire...wait for Hussein to at least make a move...Even he's gotta know that we have nukes that could take out him and his whole quarrelsome, idiotic regime with approximately 3 push-buttons and a couple hours time.
No need to waste a bunch of our troops. Just IMO.

Whilst I actually agree with you, Knot, I don't see the harm in 'reminding' him of the treaties, rules etc. Roads, Bridges etc can fall down again just to P*** him off. Whilst I don't want ANY lives to be lost, he is kinda waving the one finger, and if he is seen to get away with it who is next?
