9/11 firefighter documentary

Dunno if this has been posted...

There was a documentary filmed by a couple Frenchmen who were documenting the life of a NYC firefighter the day the Twin Towers were struck. It originally aired in March or April, I believe, and it aired recently (so I heard). I was VERY impressed with the non-professional footage shown...especially the part when they were in the tower basement when they collapsed...a freaky rumbling sound and then darkness. I just wanted to say that this is now on DVD at Wal-mart for $20 and I highly recommend it.

In fact, buy it from Amazon right here.

And while I'm at it, this was on the front page of Amazon:

It angers me so much that there are humans capable of causing mass murder on a scale such as this.

First airing in the UK last night, good that it was not over edited, and it gave a real impression of the fear, confusion and frustration of the firefighters.
If it really tales a fully equiped firefighter one minute to climb a flight of stairs, it would have been 80 minutes before they could do anything, and they would have been knackered. This brings into question the safety of other skyscrapers in more ordinary situations.
If I were a fire chief, I would have serious doubts about sending my crews into a building in that situation, I know it is their job and their "calling" but in reality there is not much they can do when the fire is so high.

I watched and recorded it when it first aired. So many different emotions while watching it. If I buy any 911 dvd, it would probably be that one. They were literally "right there". Makes you think..

My heart goes out to all of those people who suffered and are still suffering.

I saw this documentary yesterday (watched by 12.5% of the Dutch population).
I was glad to see Fireman "Probie" Tony come back, really thoughed during the beginning of the docu that he lost his life.
I think this footage explains best, what went through the people that were on location. Still can't believe what happend there.....
