LAN party @ NJ

Hey wuddup guyz,
Aiight.. so here's the deal... me and my pals are pretty hyped up about UT2k3 so I'm deciding to hold a Lan party at my place shortly after UT2k3 is released (if all goes well, at the end of this month). Now only about 3-4 friends of mine are coming over and there is definitely room for 5-6 more.
I live in Randolph (Route 10), New Jersey. So if any of my fellow TechIMOers live in NJ or if anyone wants to fly to NJ, I would be happy to have ya.
You'd hafta bring your own PCs of course and maybe some routers/hubs if I run short of em.

Haha, sounds fun. Think about posting on www.lanparty.com if you want a big lan party. They also havce tips on how to set one up.

Think about renting a 32 port switch or two (and keeping the pizza and coke away from them). They come in handy, and you can plug them up to a router with less trouble than a router>router uplink.

Not lookin for anythin too big... my apt is not THAT big enough.
I usually borrow the switches/routers from work .... last time I had a lanparty someone's wireless keyboard got 'COKED'... lol... was real funny.

Dunno tho, one of my friend had a 9 person party in the basment of his house . It was cramped as a sardine can but worked out really well. It was funny tho, we ran out of router ports, turns out one guy has a router in his trunk (miraculousy).

I think surreal keeps one in hers just in case she meets somebody that wants to hook up more pc's for UD

prexaspes, Randolph is exit 145 off the parkway. You could take 78 West from Newark, get onto 287 N and take exit-19 to dover.
