I used to be TOTAL anti-console...but I've warmed to them since getting an XBox

(you can surely look up some past debates where I was completely pro-PC).
Lets look at costs - kickarse PC can be well over $1k and you have to upgrade. NOW I know all you alls love to do that but we are looking at it from an objective point of view

...most common monitor is 19" (21" cost much more last I checked) which is pitents compared to a television. YES much sharper and YES you can go to insane 6000*20000 resolution wiht your $400 video card.
Console - $200 for PS2/XBox...$20-30 per controller, $50 for games (PC also). Can have party times with buddies and you can (just about) play online also. I got mine for the multiplayer pretty much....I don't have $$$$$$ to put down on multiple computers and/or don't have a ton of spare parts to put one together.
So for me - console = easier on the wallet...
Try an HD tv?
I'm not that picky about graphics *shrugs*..guess some of you all have better eyes for it than I do

. Until PCs go wayyyyy down, the console will
always have it's place in the
mass market...I doubt ever replacing the PC as a gaming platform (I will ALWAYS use both) but standing beside it. Many others just like the TRUE plug and play design of a console -- nothing like getting a new game and being able to play it right away, as soon as you get home. PC..hmmm...(with me -) first install it, then find out you have to install a patch for it on Win2k, oh wait then your video card needs updated drivers in order to work.....whatever

. I know some take pleasure in doing all that...those are the same who take pleasure in reformatting their HD every week

On the other hand, I would have gotten completely sick of Rogue Spear single player if it wasn't for the mods that I could create and download for it. The pretty much made that games replayability factor...something you cannot do on a console. I love being able to 'hack' games and mess around changing values
Anyh00, on a forum inundated with uber computer geek-types, it is no surprise that many prefer the PC, if not just for it's 'tinkerability'.
