Check this out...."voluntary human extinction movement"
www.vhemt.org
Read if you want to and post your thoughts. Some intriguing stuff there, but I think it might upset some people for some reason or another. I wasn't upset, I'm just not sure if I agree.

My Geo teacher once said, Earth can support many more people and there is no need to be afraid of resources runing out.
He said that as time passes, we will become more advanced, and we will be able to produce more food from the current agricultural areas.

| Maybe, but they've been around a while: "founded" in 1996, journal issues dating back to 1991. Humorous, but with some good points to make.

Reminds me of the London Flat Earth Society. One of the members was shown the curvature of the earth from a 1970s photograph taken by an astronaut. He said : Sure its curved. Like a disk. But still flat.
These guys pick up obscure facts and put together a website for fun.

The earth itself is responsible for more extinctions than humanity.
Have you ever seen a dinosaur?
How many sabre Toothed tigers have you seen?
Every Ice age Kills off thousands of species?
Humanity is the savior of the existing species. We are holding back the Ice age with our industrial might. America in the front of this with our extreme uses of natural resources.
If this Ice age is allowed to happen it would be the end of the spotted owl and many other endangered species. Use more fossil fuels and help save other species from going the way of the wooly mammouth.

So I gather that most people don't believe that we are destroying the earths ecosystem? I think the word "destroying" needs defined though. There is no doubt that we are destroying numerous species and ecosystems, but does that mean that if they are capable of dying out, that they should die out? What did darwin have to say about this? Were we considered as one of the species that is competing?

I am saying that the jury is not in yet. The species that we have supposedly wiped out were weak to begin with. except for the buffalo, and some whales. In general I feel that we could do better but we are as likely to be saving thousands of species as killing them. If Ice ages are on a 10,000 year cycle then we are in line for another mass extinction. Would our industrial waste be what stops it. IDK .
But being that the world kills off millions of species when ever it wants who is to say we are worse than nature for the overall eco system. We are comming into our own just now. A mere 200 years into industrialization. Given another 200 years we may be completely clean and the saviors of the world. We could be the creature that stabilizes the climate and lets all species live in harmony with gia. Too early to tell for me. We are but a blip in geological/galactic history. Sentient life is the only hope for our solar systems future. perhaps someday we will figure out how to increase the suns life or move our species to a planet not a mere 2 billion years from solar death.
