Little Leauge World Series

Anyone catch the Little Leauge World Series tonight? The U.S. beat Japan 1 - 0.

Congratulations to the Valley Sports Little League!

The World Champions are right here from my community in Louisville KY...

The city is celebrating much like a major leauge championship. These kids will get one heck of a welcome when they come back home. A city wide parade, a party at the state capital and a visit by the President next week...

For some reason I think that kid pitching for KY is older than 12 or 13... Could just be me though..

Yep, been watching all week, in fact we had a Little League world series championship party here -

Good job Louisville!

edit - after last years debacle with the overage kid - I doubt it.
In our league this year, at every tournament - we had to provide original birth certificates - not copies, originals, no original, no play.

(we had a good run - won our district, but lost in sectionals)

Yep, I saw that. Ok, listened to it while I surfed TIMO, looking up at the TV at key moments. Hehe, that Louisville pitcher was as tall as all 3 of the Japanese coaches. I mean as tall as each of the coaches individually - not stacked on top of each other.

There's always been an issue with boys going through puberty early and outgrowing the small diamond. A 60mph pitcher is equal to a 90mph Major Leaguer when you consider the 46 ft distance from mound to home plate. You can't prevent a 13-year old from maturing, but it can really skew the playing field with a 6-foot pitcher throwing 'downhill' to the plate and running 60-foot(18.2m) basepaths.
