Food Interesting link

Just saw this on a bill and entered all in my wallet. Enter your own bills currently in your possession.

www.wheresgeorge.com

Nifty way to track where your money has gone! It works for US (and I think Canadian) bills.

I tracked bills through them a few years ago and saw my money move half way across the U.S. in a few weeks. It is pretty neat but a lot of work.

To make it work you need to get a "where george" stamp or at least write the website on the bill.

Is it legal to do so?

J

I got a $1 bill with that written on the edge, all the way around the white border explaining what the website was all about. I checked out when I got home. It may have been your jman pretty cool idea.

From their FAQs:
Quote:
Q: Is it legal to write on currency?
A: Where's George? does not encourage the defacement of U.S. Currency. The law defines "illegal" defacement as defacement that renders bills unfit to be re-issued. For the legal details from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, please Click Here.
Their link to BEP is: http://www.bep.treas.gov/document.cfm/18/104 and it says that doing stuff to bills "with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued" is illegal. IMO, writing a web addy in the bill border wouldn't render it "unfit to be reissued"...
