I went to see it a few weeks ago and must say if your in the area you should check it out if you have not already. here are some photo's I took if they don't show up right let me know I'll fix it I still need to title each photo.
as I get time I'm going to leave a little detail for each photo. It's kinda sad to be there but is very impresive at the sametime. Just a few notes the chairs are glass base with lights inside and brass top with each person who died engraved on the chairs(the large one's were adults and small ones were children) The mirror river is only a few inches deep and is lined with the marble from the building. The time on the wall represents time of the bombing and at the other end has the time of the end of collapse. The memorial wall is cleared weekly except items left by dirrect family members which are reg. items and will remain as long as the family wants it there.

Very nice. I hope they do such a good job at the WTC site. There's talk that the entire area (which is prolly the most expensive real estate in the World, except maybe downtown Tokyo) will not be built commercially but have a memorial, museums, parks and cultural stuff.
Which I think is a great idea seeing the mess lower Manhattan has become. They are building a huge transportation/train hub there dubbed "Grand Central Station" in Lower Manhattan.
(For those unfamiliar with New York City, Grand Central Station is about mid-town or 50 blocks north of Groundzero. Manhattan is an island 24 miles north to south and maybe 3-4 miles east west. WTC/Groundzero are at the extreme south and west side of Manhattan and the Twin Towers were visible from my apartment windows .)
