Surely, even in the US, there are rules about video monitoring. I know we have them in Australia.
The boss should have the security video
professionally monitored, and unless he has security personnel there should be NO live feed. It should just get canned, so in the event of a hold-up, evidence can be produced.
From a security standpoint, having a live feed can be very dangerous. Picture this: He is sitting in his office and notices a hold-up playing on the monitor on the wall. So he grabs his gun and charges down the stairs like Rambo - and gets shot dead. Or worse, shoots someone else.
If there are no video monitoring in the workplace laws in your area then I wish you luck. He will be able to do whatever he wants, I suppose.
