American Idol (and other indicators you need to get a life)

What is up with this show? I haven't seen it but has there been anything this contrived since "Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire"?

hehe I need a serious life. I admit, I'm a reality tv junkie. I can't help myself. Here are my fav shows in order: 1. Big Brother 3 2. American Idol 3. Survivor 4. The Mole
heheheh

BTW, I can't believe that Tamyra got voted off last night?!?! Nikki is the one who is flat on every fifth note!

Edit: I forgot Fear Factor and Dog Eat Dog.

ROFLMAO!!! I got this same line from someone I work with this morning.

I think you get subjected to this stuff when you listen to commerical pop/rock stations, it's all they talk about. One reason I avoid them.

Yeah, I watch it.

Actually, I'm relatively impressed with it. I'd be a lot more impressed with it if FOX wasn't consistantly trying to make it NOT a reality TV show.. (ie. the acting skits they have the contestants do... no ... not a fan of that.)

As for the contestants - I'm actually suprised with the talent, but strongly feel that they need to implement a different way of eliminating contestants. The ones that are actually talented aren't even being given a chance, because of quirky phone results.

Too bad CBS didn't have the format.. It could be 150% better. The simple fact of the matter is - there's good reality TV, and there's bad reality TV. And those who lump both of it into the same group to derive some sort of satisfaction from being trendy among their age group.. Well, whatever...

I know that I, for one, can really appreciate (in some respects) watching 12 everyday people compete and strategize in order to win $500,000. (In Big Brother..) They are involved in a competition that really lasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 3 months. Not to mention that they are pretty much trapped in house with unbelievable restrictions. I know that when I hear that some actor is crying because they aren't getting $250,000 an episode - it really brings a tear to my eye... NOT.

*shrug*
