woodbutcher is on a distinguished road

Just had to post this.
My father is 68 years young and about the coolest guy you could ever meet. If you would have asked my opion of him 20 years ago I would have told he was a ujhouihohh!
Anyways times have changed (so have I, I'm the "old man" at 41) and this man has become my best friend!
I've built 2 boxes for him over the years and I'm in the process of ordering and putting together a "updated AMD" box for him.
He's currently using my old 17'" moniter and when I told him about the $100.00 19" (after rebates) he was skeptical (to say the least).
Well that was Mon. and it now Thurs. and after are disscusion tonight he said that he has "complete confidence in my abilities"

GOTTA LOVE-EM

That's great to hear woodbutcher!!!

I hope my Dad and I end up the same way, right now we hardly ever talk (we live over 1,000 miles apart) and when I call him after 2 or 3 months of silence he says, "Oh I was just going to call you tonight". We both know he's full of __it, but we play it out anyway.

You're giving me hope for the future...thanks.

Mike

My father would tell us kids when we were growing up that "There's 2 people that REALLY care for you if your lucky, and I'm one of them"

cool woodbutcher, me and my father aren't all that close, he lives a couple miles away, but I only see him once a week or so. I still have hope now! Thanx

This is just eerie....

I just came back here from a dinner with mom, sister, brother, brother-in-law... Today is the tenth anniversary of my Dad's passing...we like to get together and observe it, and we spent the evening telling "Dad" stories, and laughing...and sometimes we still cry. It doesn't get easier with time.

I kept starting to write a thread today about it...about the kind of man he was...about how much I loved him, and how much I still miss him. He was only 62. And it's true, btw, the good DO die young. And they can go suddenly, and you will spend the rest of your life with an absolute certainty of the theory of chaos.

If you still have your Dad, cherish him.
