I installed a DSC system in mine, you can interconnect it with X10 systems,control HVAC, etc....... I bought a card so it will monitor itself. It will call whatever numbers I program into it.

Wiring is in, but I haven't set it up yet (not moved in it yet)

Well.. as for a home invasion.. i'm not quite as worried about it.. primarily for when i'm not home..

when i'm home.. I just need something that slows them down enough so I can get my gun.. when I'm away I don't want them in the house at all..

What are the best security systems/measures for access control? IE keep em out of the house. Steel doors, security glazed windows, etc..

I think your best bet might be motion detector lights in your backyard, don't leave windows open w/screens in them in the summer, lock all your doors including any back or side doors....surely there are other simple tips.

yeah.. i got most of the simple tips... just wondering if anyone can reccomend a good proximity system and or other items like steel/fiberglass doors....
