Billy Joe Royal and Rodney Crowell had some decent stuff, not current. You might check out the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain (does she have a voice? ), and or some of T.G. Sheppard's stuff.

Not that familiar with a lot of the newer artists.

Well as far as current Country POP, guess that's what you'd call it.. it is popular and on the radio
I like Lonestar, and Dixie Chicks are good.. uh and Underclocked,, Shania Twain has a little more than a voice LOL

I listened to Nickel Creek a little.. interesting, but it don't float my boat cause there ain't enough sangin' in eit. I'd call it Irish country. You hear quite a bit of that influence in it..
Which btw is really pretty interesting to me listening to the old country and hearing the roots of their ancestors..

Surreal, you ever listen to Asleep at the Wheel?
They have a couple of tribute albums out that are pretty good.
One of them has a bunch of people on it, from Willie Nelson, to George Strait, and even Huey Lewis..
That album is a tribute to the music of Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys. Bob Wills was a kind of music pioneer in his day, melded a few different sytles into his brand of "Western Swing".
