Best HTML book?

Can anyone recommend an HTML book that doesnt necissarily(sp?) go by tutorials and examples. Something with coding in it. AHhh I hope ya get what I mean.

well this would be better in a software forum but...
I believe O'Reilly has the best puter books out there, and also Deitel & Deitel have good books...

Personally I just learned by opening up good ol' notepad and playing with a webpage
