Farewell? Nah!!
Mr Warty Hogg has been accepted by the army cum laude(Look it up, dudes!!) and will join January 3, 2003.

Since he will continue to check in here through the rigors of his training (jumping from airplanes and stuff) I just thought we might as well not wish him a farewell.

So, John, no farewell to you.

My best buddy in college was an Airborne Ranger. He came home from Vietnam 3/4" shorter, after his helicopter crashed.

So, it is the life of danger, from time to time

Yup...was soooooooo excited when the Army counselor told me he'd gotten me into MP and Airborne.

EDIT - I misread...it's 9 weeks of basic and then 8 weeks of MP training (I had said 17 weeks of MP)....and 3 weeks of Airborne
I really can't wait. I'll be selling my car, car stereo, computer, and digicam before I go because I won't be needing those things for some time or they will just be outdated even more so than they already are.

I have a good chance at being assigned my 1st or 2nd choice of duty station...Germany or Italy.

During the 6 months of training? I really have no idea....during basic, I'm sure I won't...MP sk00, I'm going to be studying a lot..and really don't know the routine (free time, etc.). Airborne...doubt that too..

Not looking too good

I'll say my goodbyes after Christmas and err 'talk to you soon' in July. Who knows...everytime I leave and then come back to a message board, all the people I used to talk to are gone...dunno why. I'm hoping that's not going to be the same with this place

By the time I come back, everyone is gonna be above 4000k posts (including you knot!) and I'm not gonna feel special anymore
