Hmm I think you'd be better off finding some device that can do GPS and has the ability to feed it to a PC.
Not sure what, but I think maybe MS Maps stuff can take in GPS information from something like a usb port
Don't think it gives specific information about parks etc, but you should be able to track your movements.
Ummm better bring about 30 batteries though
Where are ya headed camping?
If you're in MI up to freesoil MI is nice camping ground (up by Manistee, NW of Grand rapids )

Well I plan on going through all of Michigan like I did last year. I want to see the Porcupine Mountains this year though. Ran out of time last year I have about 5 days or so. Im going to Mackinac again and maybe Pictured Rocks. I love Manistee, I did some enviromental work about 7 years ago when I was up there. Should be fun

Hey, wave to Baby when you pass Auburn Hills!
Have fun on your trip! Michigan is a beautiful state, especially in the fall.

Camping is cheating.

You should get out and fight with every one else not hide like that.

Oooooops. this is not the Action game forum.

We'll be camping at Tourist Park near Marquette Labor Day weekend. We'll be going out four wheeling (jeeps and trucks) Saturday and Sunday. Another nice park between Marquette and L'anse is Van Riper State Park. The Porkies are pretty nice. And there's Presque Isle in Marquette, which isn't really all that much, but it offers some nice view of Lake Superior. Not much to see in Iron Mountain (world's largest man made ski jump, world's largest steam operated water pump), but there's a campground at Lake Antoine.

Oops, forgot, Vass is right. Microsoft MapPoint can connect to many GPS reciever units via USB and redline your routes, as well as show you where you are on the laptop. MapPoint is a pretty powerful program in fact.

We have been planning on picking up a GPS unit for the trucks so we can redline all the trails we find and mark the good ones for later.

Hey whir, you ever been up to Isle Royale? Would love to go up there sometime, that'd be awesome

Macinaw island would be great too
(or is it macinac? always forget if its the city or the island that is spelled funny )

No, I haven't yet. Not a traveller, personally. If there were any good four wheeling trails up there, we'd have probably done it by now. :P

I'm not sure on Mackinak vs Mackinaw thing. I'll have to check at work tomorrow on MapPoint. I know there's a Mackinaw Rd in Sault Ste. Marie (just drafted the cable on Friday).
