Lord of the rings /fellowship of the ring
Tell me that I am doing something wrong.
The movie appears to leave frodo walking off with his little fellow hobbit whats his face. They accomplished nothing all their tasks are left open. The elf babe and warrior are left hanging in their romance. WTF. This would not be so bad if they launched their sequel already.
This is like the old joke how do you keep an dope in suspense.
Geeeeezeeee.

Arrrrrrggggg.
I mean it was a bit slow sometimes but I thought it was a good movie I can't stand a multi year cliff hanger. But I Want CLOSURE. Heck if it didn't bring in enough money it wont ever get closure. Sorta like a season fanally when the show gets cancelled. I would definitely go see the end of the movie if it ever gets one.
But once again ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, what y'all need to understand, is that while Fellowship of the Ring is a full book.... it's only the first chapter of the full story of Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkein wrote them this way. I had the same reaction when I first saw it.... I see the break point as a marvelous breaking spot between FotR and tTT. Doin't fret... the end is coming... the entire climax will be here. OK, so it will be December 2003, but it will be here.
Remember how Star Wars, although each was a full story... was all part of a larger story.... so is LotR. We now know the characters... know the conflict, know what needs to be done. Just sit back and relax... to watch it all unfold.

They'll be released every December. Dec 2002, dec 2003, and dec 2004. They've already finished filming all 3 movies I think the only thing they are left to do is add in special effects and hype it up even more. Its actually supposed to be broken down into 5 seperate books but most publishers only do 3, so the movie is being done in 3 as well.
Be patient, its worth it. Go read the books while you wait for the next movie.

I thought it was originally six? But maybe that includes The Hobbit.
Anyhow, "whats his face" is Samwise, son of Hamfast, and he's just about the most important character in the whole story.
He may be a dullard, but he saves old Frodo's bacon several times. (How much of that will be revealed in the movies I don't know, but when the chips are down he's as brave and stout as the tallest Elf-warrior, believe me!)
The movies, taken together, will stand by themselves I'm sure. But you'll enjoy it ten times as much if you go and read the books first. Plus, much mystery surrounding events untold in the first film will be unwound in the book.
PS: Alligator_al...you ever read Dirk Gentley? HeeHeeHee

Thats good then. You'll prbably enjoy the movies more that way.
Don't worry. In Japan and sometimes in the sate a show will only air the next episode like a week or even *gasp* a month later (I'm mainly refering to 8th team).

Personally i thought the break point was OK. The kid gets away from the bad guys and now is off to his new adventure. Many of my friends did not care for the ending though. Overall a great movie for me and a 1 year wait is not bad compared to the matrix, star wars, ect
