That's a nice link!

I've always been interested in optical illusions and stereoscopics, although I find viewing stereograms (and 'freeviewing' stereo images) on a computer screen almost impossible.

I've tried both CRT (not pleasant) and LCD monitors but no luck. Do you have any tips for this?

I think the sterograms has to do with how well you can just relax your eyes. Once I figured out how to do it, I can look at any of them and instantly see the pictures.

I can see a stereogram if I can see a reflection in it. My dad had one in a frame and had a piece of glass over it to cover it. If you look at the reflection you're allowing your eyes to relax and keep your focus distant. It all becomes clear

Woohoo! I can see them now
The one of dolphins was the first to 'go' -- after that they were all pretty easy. Thanks for the advice surreal/vass!

(that last one you linked to Cruez was really strange: all I got was a row of shiny balls floating in 3d boxes... is that what it's meant to be??)

I have several books of stereograms, took me a while to get the hang of them, but now most come easily.
