Kid gets life

The kid who shot two classmates dead in a school in Las Vegas has got life in prison - eligible for parole in 50 years.

IMO that's over the top. I don't know an alternative but he's gonna miss out on the best years of his life (yes, i'm aware he shot two other 15 years olds who'll also miss out on the best years of their lives)

I've no idea of what else they could have done but this seems really harsh.

Sounds reasonable enough to me. An eye for an eye and all that. Really, he got off easy. Adults might not even get parole, or he could've gotten the chair (is that still going in NV?)

A kid who kills kids isn't a kid anymore and doesn't deserve "the best years of his life".

Punishment is just. No one thinks of the lives the 2 dead kids would've had or thir families?

Tragic yes. Kid will miss the best years of his life. Yes. But he was responsible for a tragic crime and deterrents have to be set or other kids will think its easy to get away.

If anything, his punishment should be worse. I have no sympathy for murderers.

yes. i know i agree almost totally with all of what you're saying. but theres always a nagging small part of me which disagrees and thinks its too harsh.

Life would be so much simpler if people didn't do things like that

eerr cadd I know that you didn't mean any disrespect from that, but that sounded a little bit harsh. Kind of like saying that his kids would get hurt.

Actually cadd brought up a good point.....I was gonna say, what if one of the two kids were YOUR kids...then you'd want their murderer strung up and crucified (well maybe not literally).
