Animal Cruelty.

I am not surprised at many of the things that I discover going on in this state. It is Yeehaa Utah after all.. But this is too much! If anyone else is as offended as I am about this, please send letters to the addresses found here.

To the editor:

It has come to my attention that, at the pound in Enoch, city officials are killing homeless dogs in a homemade chamber into which they pump hot carbon monoxide from the idling engine of an old Dodge pickup truck -- a method deemed "unacceptable" by the American Veterinary Medical Association.

The mayor and animal control officer there will not switch to a humane method.

A special interest group has offered to pay a vet to inject the animals so they can drift painlessly to sleep, but that offer has been rejected. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab has offered to take any placeable dogs, but that offer, too, has been refused.

In fact, Enoch city officials have voted against filtering gas currently pumped into the chamber via a water filtration system to help ease the irritation and burning of the dogs' throats and lungs. They won't consider switching to compressed cylinder gas.

Even adequate carbon monoxide equipment can fail. Makeshift gas chambers like the one used by Enoch are virtually guaranteed to subject animals to a prolonged, agonizing death.

I write this letter to implore the community of Enoch to come together in one voice to end the needless suffering taking place in your town.

What the hell is wrong with them? They refused two offers that cost them no money at all. Do they just enjoy watching things die slowly?

They prolly chew a lot of tobacco up there and didn't know you spit not swallow.

surreal That is indeed wrong and should be stopped, it seems as if the person running the show takes to much enjoyment in this and should be fired if he does not want to comply with the offers to make it a quicker non suffing death.

Wish there was some way to give this national attention. I'd love to see our entire country scorn this guy..

Create a website with his picture, and a list of his atrocities, and implore the good people of Utah to never VOTE for sadistic monsters like him! Then send it to him, and to the newspapers.

Well Knot, things is different here than they are in californy.. I don't live in that town either, it's a ways up north.. but I think the second link I provided is trying to do just that.

Only thinkg worse is that dog that got fireworks tied to it July 4th. Still don't know who did it, the dog is just starting to recover. I say b#######s! Makes you wanna "Do unto others as they have done unto inocent creatures" eh?

Ya know, Animal Cruelty is a sign of Spouse and Child Abuse.
