Thursday afternoon, I got a call from a Marine Corp. recruiter...I'm thinking, dang I don't WANT to be a Marine,
leave me alone! I already met with this Marine recruiter who was whacked off his buttocks...this guy was diff. though, he told me that the other guy was "a little weird" and he had been calling all of the other guys former contacts. I told him I didn't want to be a Marine "just because" and he said he understood that and was gonna hook me up with a cool Army recruiter he knew who was new to the area. The Marine guy new I wanted to be an MP (military police) and this lady was a former MP.
She calls me and we meet today (Friday) morning. All I can say is:
what planet did she come from. Not joking...first of all, she has that determination of G.I. Jane, a similar face to Jaimie Pressly (look it up) and her personality was extremely enthusiastic. Second of all, she kicks major @$$...during MP training (of which she was the only female in her class), specifically hand-to-hand combat training, she got a black eye accidently from one of the instructors...she ran to the bathroom but then decided she wasn't gonna whuss out...she snuck up on the instructor, put him in a neck lock and nearly made him pass out from lack of breath because she didn't realize he was trying to tap out...lmao. She also said she could talk about the M-16 for hours and owns her own .45 because she hates the 9mm.
lol...anyway, enough about the recruiter (I was really impressed). She told me a lot about MP training and MP life...awesome.
I'm pretty much in the Army. She was getting so excited...this is her third "contract" (so they call it) and ---- pending orthodontist letter saying I'll get damn braces off at some point within the next year ---- I will be going to Mass. on Wed. night, staying over night at a gov. paid for Mariott room w/meals and then doing the whole physical examination process the next day. At that point I will meet with a counselor who will show me what careers I qualify for. I already took the ASVAB (military career placement test) and scored quite well...they call me an
Alpha because of my score

(I am sought after

).
I will then make a selection of 3 bases that I would like to be based at. One of which will be my duty post for the 3-4 years I'll be enlisted in Active Duty. I am going to get the h-e-l-l away from here, that's for sure, and will be volunteering for overseas...I
really want to go to Germany. I've always respected the Germans anyway, 160mph speed limit and BMWs grow on trees

. My sis said she would go to Hawaii....nah...maybe I will put that on the list of 3, but I don't really want to stay there for 3-4 years (*yawn*, can we say boring). Any suggestions of other Army bases are welcome.
Rangers and other Spec Ops related positions are getting huge bonuses now due to uber l33t War on Terror. I wanted to be a Ranger for 4-5 months but decided it was a permanent hiking trip with 100lb packs - no thanks

.
As I said I am going into the Military Police - pretty much guaranteed with my score and it's a big organization It hit me a few months ago when I saw a History Channel show about Military Police which highlighted canine units...*light bulb goes off*...anyway. Specifically, I want to be a dog handler...the canine units. Most of you know my love for dogs...why not get paid for what you
love to do

?
I can't wait to go in. She kept asking me if I was nervous....lol, no, I was excited. This is nothing new to me...I'm not joe senior who just figured out he has no idea WTH he is going to do. I know my sh*t

....just need to get in shape so I can be a big bad@$$ MP with a big bad@$$ German Shephard

. The canine school is something I sign up for after MP school...there will be a waiting list and probably will not get in for some months. Up 'til that point I will be patroling in a cop car and doing general MP related duties
*I will get to 0wner naughty people*
Sorry for the long post!!!...pretty much sums up my pride and joy though. Service to country, adventure...you name it, I want it.
Almost forgot...the reason for the title:
Quote:
| To become a warrior is to be totally committed to what you are about in this life--to discover your own truth and live by it. Nothing less than total commitment results in mastery. Warriorship is neither a religion nor a philosophy. It is a way of life that demands everything you have to give, and rewards accordingly. But it is important to understand that neither the paths nor the rewards of warriorship are necessarily the "world's". Warriorship begins in evolution and ends in transcendence.
