PLEASE remind me:

NOT to work on a machine older then 3 years---

NO MORE "can you make a working computer from these 3 dead ones for Grandma+Grandpa"?

PLEASE---dont ask me to fix/upgrade your dead/toasted/ancient eMachine, HP, Compaq, Mac etc to 2002 specs for free or otherwise...

You have a 20 zone 120 sprinkler system you need programmed?
and yer askin me to do it?

Ditto on making your swimpool heater/pump/cleaning system function properly ontime 24/7

Program your 14 piece entertainment center to work from 1 remote?---RTFM!

OK Ok ill put the chain back on your kids bike and adjust it---

NO I dont know all and cant fix any poo you throw at me---

Remember ima dumba$$ and actually dont really know much about anything---

Ive had an odd week---im guilty of being able to find out about things---but this is getting rediculous:

Ive been asked to be a mid-wife for a neighbor that wants to home-birth her next daughter---where do/how do I draw the line?

Tell them "Sure. Right after you help me Mid-wife a Jaguar rear end into the Ramblerdini."

Either that, or "Sorry. I'll be gone that month to broker a peace conference in Kuzbekistan."

Or, maybe just: "Are you out of your FRICKING MIND????"

Talk about Jack-of-all-trades"!

I could/have done most of those, though. Maybe I need to specialise a little more.

Not allowed to do the midwife one, though - against the law here as I'm not a registered midwife.

I could do it, though - we had to cover emergency childbirth as part of our training.

Cheers
Mick

PS If I didn't work on any machines older than three years I would have no PC'S!

i know how you feel. people always ask me to help with peoples computer problems, and it just gets really frustrating sometimes.

I've come to the conclusion lately that people are stupid

-I'll fix 'em as long as it has nothing older than Win3.1 on it I've actually attemped this, DOS 3.0

NO MORE "can you make a working computer from these 3 dead ones for Grandma+Grandpa"?

- It'll cost more than getting a new system in the month run.

PLEASE---dont ask me to fix/upgrade your dead/toasted/ancient eMachine, HP, Compaq, Mac etc to 2002 specs for free or otherwise...

- I HATE emachines! And It'll cost double up front just to get the case back on (I'm not being sarcastic, YOU put the cover back on ).

You have a 20 zone 120 sprinkler system you need programmed?
and yer askin me to do it?

- Around here, we have that. It's called RAIN! Unfortunately, it never comes when you want it.

Ditto on making your swimpool heater/pump/cleaning system function properly ontime 24/7

- What the?-

Program your 14 piece entertainment center to work from 1 remote?---RTFM!

- No, that actually doesn't help .

OK Ok ill put the chain back on your kids bike and adjust it---

- It would depend on the model bike. Some bikes are more screwed up than others

NO I dont know all and cant fix any poo you throw at me---

- Ewwww.... I wouldn't even attempt to fix that! You're on your own buddy!

Remember ima dumba$$ and actually dont really know much about anything---

- You obviously know enough to know how to hook up a PC... no comment

Ive had an odd week---im guilty of being able to find out about things---but this is getting rediculous:

- I'll say you've had an odd week!

Ive been asked to be a mid-wife for a neighbor that wants to home-birth her next daughter---where do/how do I draw the line?

-What the? Maybe it's best not to ask...

Maybe you're just very 'smart' looking...people take one look at you and think, "Aha! There's just the guy I've been looking for to unscrew this screwed-up Compaq!"

hmm what i do for mates is what Hawkeye177 is charging for
Except i suggest the computer parts to buy for them, and help them assemble the computer, so they don't bother me for help for adding hard drives etc. I guess its that old "give a man some grain and he'll not go hungry that day, but give him the tools to grow his own and he'll not go hungry AGAIN"
