A Star Trek Future
The Saudi Ambassador to the UN has just finished giving a speech, and walks out into the lobby where he meets President Bush.
They shake hands and as they walk the Saudi says, "You know, I have just one question about what I have seen in America."
President Bush says "Well your Excellency, anything I can do to help you, I will do.
The Saudi whispers "My son watches this show 'Star Trek' and in it there are Russians, and Blacks, and Asians, but never any Arabs. He is very upset. He doesn't understand why there are never any Arabs in Star Trek."
President Bush laughs and leans toward the Saudi, and whispers back, "It's because it takes place in the future...."

Ok, here is my chance to get flamed...
As an op and chatter on IRC in some flirting type channels... etc, I have come to find the percentage of Middle Eastern heritage males to be the most demanding and rude of all the chatters (percentage wise I am saying). I DO understand that not every individual is that way... but it IS offensive. Maybe it's due to a lack of ability to fully understand English.. and conotation... maybe it's upbringing... I don't know.
I say again that I am NOT trashing all of em. Heck, white males could get flamed the same way, if ya really think about it.
It is kinda sad that Gene Roddenbury forgot the ME peoples in Star Trek, since he was SO adamant on having Uhura, a black female, as an officer and bridge crew member (revolutionary in the 60's). I hadn't even thought about that, until reading this thread... it's astounding.. and insulting... all at the same time.
