falken is on a distinguished road
if greatest means most popular to the general public he might just be a winner. He is nowhere near the most proficiant though. As much as people like to romance him he wasn't that good. even back in the 60's.

im sorry, but david gilmour is NOWHERE NEAR the top of the list. First off, he was the REPLACEMENT for a better guitarist, Syd Barret. Secondly, how could he possibly be #1? show me a solo of his that even comes close to sweet child o' mine! (This coming from a Pink Floyd junkie, btw)

I think the list should be as follows:

Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Robert Johnson, B.B King, and Duane Allman
